Rob Atkinson delivers the keynote lecture at the 2025 Bromley Memorial Event co-hosted by the Institute for International Science and Technology Policy (IISTP) at GW’s Elliott School and the University of Ottawa's Institute for Science, Society & Policy (ISSP).
During his presentation, Atkinson explores the significant challenges the U.S. science community faces (specifically reduced funding), why the prevailing “Bush” model is no longer a valid guide for science policy, and how the community can chart a new course for science and engineering policy focused on aligning with key national goals, such as the techno-economic competition with China.
