Andrew Baranak
Andrew Baranak is the lead industrial designer in the Consumer Product Integration Branch of GTRI. Andrew has worked on product design and engineering projects pertaining to human centered design and accommodation since 2007. Throughout his time at GTRI, he has used this interest to inform numerous projects. From helping with the design of gloves that educate people about the effects of arthritis on people’s hands to cereal packaging design to wearable sensor suites for the military, Andrew continues to grow his understanding of the human-product interaction. One of his latest projects was inspired by an OpenIDEO challenge and funded by an AVTI and ITIF grant focused on expanding the capabilities of an iPad, enabling it to be used as a universally accessible absentee ballot marking device.
