Ansley Erdel is the managing partner at Salt Point Strategies. She brings nearly 20 years of lobbying experience to Salt Point. Ansley focuses her practice on telecommunications and technology issues. She currently represents the International Connectivity Coalition, a group of companies with substantial investments in the submarine fiber optic cable industry, advocating for policies to facilitate and promote the deployment of subsea cables.

In addition, Ansley has represented a wide variety of clients including trade associations, telecommunications service providers, wireless telephone carriers, computer and device manufacturers, and information technology companies. She has also represented the music industry, the cable industry and has led industry coalitions. Ansley currently serves as a senior policy advisor for a D.C.-based venture capital firm.

Ansley is deeply engaged in spectrum policy, having played a large part in ensuring the passage of voluntary incentive auctions of broadcaster spectrum for mobile broadband and more recently led a coalition of technology companies focused on securing unlicensed use of the 6 GHz band. Ansley has spent a significant amount of time on content carriage issues, from retransmission consent in the cable industry to performance rights for the music industry. Ansley has advocated for interoperability for wireless carriers and has worked on Universal Service Fund and e-rate reforms.

Prior to joining Salt Point, Ansley spent 15 years lobbying at one of DC’s Top 20 lobbying firms. Before that, Ansley worked for former Congressman Nathan Deal who went on to serve as Governor of Georgia. Ansley managed the telecommunications, consumer protection, and judiciary portfolios for the Congressman, then a senior Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Ansley is a University of Georgia alumna with a B.A. in journalism and political science, and resides in Chevy Chase, MD with her husband, Grant and their three children.
