Ito Sadanori is the Special Advisor to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Director of Japan External Trade Organization New York.

Since entering into Japanese METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) in 1994, Ito has extensive career in trade, energy, and digital policies. He was also engaged in corporate governance and labor market reforms in Japan. During 2018-2019, he was responsible for policies related to AI/data and cyber and in charge of G20 Osaka Summit when former Prime Minister Abe promoted “Data Free Flow with Trust”. Since August 2019, he has been stationed in the U.S. to cover geo-technology issues.
