Jason Charron
Jason Charron was appointed as the Executive Director for IRAP’s National Office in December 2010. Previously, he was the Director of Corporate Services and Strategic Initiatives at the National Research Council Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (NRC-CISTI).
Jason’s team focused on aligning NRC-CISTI resources to meet the needs of the Canadian innovation community, the National Research Council, its partners and stakeholders. He played a leading role in NRC-CISTI's recent transformation process, implementing an alternative service delivery arrangement for information delivery service through a private/public partnership. He also represented NRC's interests as program lead in the privatization process of the NRC Research Press.
Prior to joining NRC, Jason worked at the Canadian Commercial Corporation, a Crown Corporation. He also acquired international experience in technology-based organizations, including Nortel Networks (Optical Networks) and Xerox (Agent Program).
Jason holds a Master of Business Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in International Management from the University of Ottawa.
