Jot Carpenter

Jot Carpenter joined CTIA in August, 2006, and is responsible for strategic direction and day-to-day management of the wireless industry’s outreach efforts to members of Congress, the Executive Branch, and appropriate government agencies.

Carpenter is a telecommunications veteran and previously worked in the Washington, DC, office of AT&T since 1996 serving most of that time as Federal Vice President, Government Affairs. Prior to that, he worked in the Government Affairs department of the Telecommunications Industry Association for three years, after serving as a legislative assistant to Congressman Mike Oxley (R-OH) from 1991 to 1993.

Carpenter graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH, in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. Carpenter was also awarded master’s degrees in history from Bowling Green State University in 1990 and in telecommunications from George Washington University in 2000.
