Tony Wan

Tony is the Head of Platform for Reach Capital, the leading early-stage venture capital firm focused on education technology. He leads content and community operations to support Reach’s expansive network of founders and partners.

Before joining Reach, he was a co-founder and managing editor at EdSurge, covering the edtech business and financing beats for a decade. (He recently created a GPT-3 news bot fine-tuned on all his old articles.) His path to edtech began with a math game that began as a moonlight project with friends and became a startup.

Tony holds an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Stanford University and a B.A. in History from UC San Diego. He was one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Education in 2014 and an Education Writers Association Reporting Fellow in 2020.
